Product Overview

Recessed downlight with black trim in modern living room

We are LED downlight manufacturers based in Xiaolan Town, Zhongshan, and this IP65 bathroom downlight is one of the models we build in house rather than buy in and re-badge. It is a recessed ceiling fixture: the housing sits inside a cut-out, the trim finishes level with the plaster, and light is delivered as a wide, even flood rather than a tight spot, which is what a bathroom, shower room or hotel wet area actually needs.

The body is aluminium and the trim carries a soft matte finish that disappears into a plain painted ceiling and keeps a low profile in a room where everything else is tile and glass. Power is offered in four steps — 20W, 25W, 30W and 40W — each with its own overall diameter and ceiling cut-out, and colour rendering stays high enough throughout that tiles, stone, timber and skin tones read in their true colour instead of grey.

Buyers come to this model for one of three jobs: replacing an older recessed ceiling light during a bathroom refurbishment, lighting a new-build or hotel specification where the wet area has to be treated as its own zone, or standardising one fitting across a run of rooms so maintenance stays simple. If you are working with a ceiling that already exists, the two numbers that settle the choice are the cut-out diameter already in the board and the depth of the void behind it — send both to our team and we will confirm which size drops straight in and which one needs the opening adjusted.

Key Features

  • Sealed for wet interiors. Steam, splashes at the basin and hosed-down cleaning are part of a bathroom's daily life, and the front assembly and housing are sealed against all three, so this LED downlight is not the weak point in a wet zone.
  • Low glare at UGR<19. An anti-glare glass layer sits between the light source and the room and holds glare below the 19 mark that separates a comfortable space from a tiring one, so nobody standing at a mirror is looking straight into a bright point of light.
  • Output that scales with the room. Four power steps run from a small en-suite to a long row of commercial washroom fittings, so one fixture type can be specified across an entire building instead of several.
  • Colour rendering above 90. Tiles, stone and joinery keep their real colour under this light and skin tones stay natural at the mirror, which matters in hotel, restaurant and commercial interiors where finishes are signed off against a sample board.
  • 80° wide flood beam. Light spreads evenly across floor and walls rather than pooling in a hotspot under each fitting, so fewer units are needed to light a wet area properly.
  • Flush, recessed mounting. The trim sits level with the plaster for a clean ceiling line; on a solid slab where nothing can be recessed, the surface mounted LED downlight in the same range is the version to ask about, and we will confirm which of the two suits your ceiling.

Applications & Light Settings

Row of four downlights at increasing brightness
  • Family bathrooms and en-suites. 20W or 25W at 3000K gives the warm, domestic light most homeowners expect, and it is worth stepping up a size if the ceiling is high or the room is unusually long.
  • Hotel guest bathrooms. 25W to 30W at 3000K keeps the light low and warm in a room where guests wake up in the dark; using the same colour temperature on every floor keeps corridors and bathrooms visually consistent.
  • Shower rooms and wet zones. Because the fitting is sealed, it can be placed over the shower itself rather than only over the dry end of the room, which is where most bathroom lighting plans run into trouble.
  • Spa, wellness and changing areas. Long operating hours and constant humidity are better served by the 40W version at 4000K, where the light stays neutral and steady rather than warm and restful.
  • Public and commercial washrooms. In offices, restaurants and shopping centres a run of this LED downlight at 4000K reads as clean and clinical, and 30W or 40W covers the taller ceilings those buildings usually have.
  • Refurbishment and specification projects. Where drawings call for a led surface mounted downlight because the slab has no void, we will match the rest of the specification — colour temperature, output and appearance — across both versions so the ceiling still reads as one scheme.

IP65 Protection & Wet Areas

The two digits in IP65 answer two different questions. The 6 means the enclosure is dust-tight, so fine dust cannot reach the light source; the 5 means it is protected against water jets from any direction, which is the level a wet area needs once you allow for splashes at the basin, steam from a hot shower and a hose-down at the end of a cleaning shift. That is the difference between this fitting and an ordinary indoor downlight, and it is why the same model turns up in hotel bathrooms, spa changing rooms and commercial washrooms as readily as in homes.

It is worth being precise about where the protection stops. IP65 covers the fixture in a humid indoor environment. It is not a rating for immersion, and it does not make the ceiling void behind the fitting a dry space. On projects where a whole room has to meet one standard, tell us how the space is used and we will go through placement and spacing with you. Sealing and assembly are checked on the line before every unit leaves our downlight led 20w factory, so what the label states is what the fixture carries.

Installation & Commissioning

  1. Check the ceiling build-up before anything is unpacked. Measure the opening already in the board and the depth of the void behind it. Where a project intends to use a led surface mounted downlight because the slab is solid, that version is quoted separately — send us the ceiling details and we will confirm which fixture suits.
  2. Isolate the circuit and wire to the connector. Bring the supply cable to the connector supplied with the fitting, follow the markings on the lead, and leave enough slack to seat the housing without pulling on the terminals.
  3. Compress the spring clips and push the housing home. Let both clips sit flat against the back of the board and check that the trim is level rather than tipped into the opening.
  4. Power up and check the light before the ceiling is closed. Confirm the colour temperature you ordered, view the fitting from standing eye level to see how the low-glare front behaves, and check for flicker at the switch.
  5. Set the remaining fittings to the same depth. On a run of washroom lights, keeping every trim at an even height matters more than most installers expect, because even a small difference shows across a smooth ceiling.
  6. Leave the model reference with the maintenance team. A reference on file means the same fixture can be reordered later without anyone matching photographs of a ceiling.

Ordering & Delivery

  • Give us the model reference. Quote Item No. H-LB017 together with the power, colour temperature and quantity you need, so the quotation comes back matching the fixture you have specified.
  • Tell us the ceiling type. Cut-out diameter, board thickness and the depth of the void. That last point settles the choice between this fitting and a surface mounted LED downlight, and it is far easier to confirm from drawings than to find out on site.
  • Minimum order quantity. The figure is set per model rather than applied across the whole catalogue, so ask your sales contact what applies to the power and colour temperature you have chosen.
  • Lead time and production slot. Production is scheduled per order and the schedule tightens in peak months, so confirm the current lead time when you place the order and allow for it in your installation plan. Terms are agreed with your sales contact and confirmed on the order.
  • Packing and container loading. Ask for the carton dimensions, the quantity per carton and the gross weight per carton before you book freight, so your loading plan is calculated on the packing we actually ship.
  • Dimming and control. If the circuit runs on a dimmer, tell us which system you are working with so the driver option can be confirmed with your order.
  • Finish and material grade. The standard trim finish is the one shown; if your specification names a particular surface process or an aluminium grade, send it over and we will confirm what applies before you commit.
  • Warranty and after-sales. Confirm the service period and what it covers for this model with your sales contact, along with how a failed unit is handled mid-project.
  • Everything runs from our own downlight led 20w factory. Changes to power, colour temperature or quantity are checked against the production run before the line is set up, and technical questions go to the people who build the fixture.

OEM/ODM & Factory Support

The factory floor covers more than this one fixture. The same lines build the LED surface mounted downlight, the modern and magnetic track systems, the linear and pendant lights, the spotlights and the stair lights that a project usually needs alongside a bathroom specification, so an order can be consolidated instead of split across several suppliers and several delivery dates.

Huiheng Lighting has manufactured indoor commercial lighting since 2012 from Xiaolan Town, Zhongshan, and 12 years of OEM and ODM work sit behind this downlight. As LED downlight manufacturers we keep the making of the fixture in house — die casting, hardware and packing run on our own lines — so a change to a downlight programme does not have to travel between suppliers and back. That matters when a project wants one colour temperature across a whole order, a different trim colour for a private-label run, or a batch held to the same photometric result as the sample your specifier approved.

Every stage of production is inspected rather than sampled at the end, and testing equipment and a CNAS-standard laboratory let us check photometric output before goods leave. Alongside the product itself we handle product customization, lighting design consultation, installation guidance and after-sales support. What buyers tend to notice is that the specification they approve is the specification that ships, and that technical questions are answered by the people who make the fixture.

Testing & Compliance

Quality and compliance are handled in-house at Huiheng Lighting. Our factory has held ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management system certification, alongside BSCI, and our products carry CE, RoHS, ErP, CB, Reach, SAA and TUV approvals for the markets we serve. A CNAS-standard laboratory supports IES file testing and integrating sphere testing, so photometric and performance data can be checked before shipment. Declarations, test reports and compliance documents can be issued per project, with the applicable market scope confirmed together with your team before ordering. Tell us your destination market and required documents, and we will confirm what applies.

FAQ

Can we order these downlights under our own brand?

Yes. Branding is handled as part of the order: tell your sales contact what you want on the product and on the packaging, and we will confirm what is possible for the quantity you need. As LED downlight manufacturers we run tooling and assembly in house, so a private-label run stays on the same line as the standard product and keeps the same light quality.

Will a repeat order match the light colour of the batch we approved?

Every batch is produced on the same downlight led 20w factory line and checked before packing, so a repeat order can be matched to the batch you signed off. Send over the colour temperature and the reference of the batch you approved, and we will confirm it against the run that is currently scheduled.

Can I use this fitting where the ceiling has no recessed void?

It depends on the build-up. This model is made to be recessed, so it needs a cut-out and enough depth behind the board for the housing and the heat sink. Where the slab is solid or the void is shallow, the surface mounted LED downlight in the same range is the version to order — send us the ceiling details and we will confirm which one fits.

How should I clean and maintain these downlights?

Switch the circuit off, then wipe the trim and the lens of the LED downlight with a soft, damp cloth; a mild soap solution is enough for the film that builds up in a bathroom. Avoid abrasive pads, solvents and pressure washing on the front, and do not open the housing. After cleaning, check that the trim still sits flush, and keep the space behind the fitting clear of insulation and dust so heat can escape.

Which cut-out size do I need?

Each of the four power steps has its own overall diameter and its own cut-out, and the size drawing gives both. Measure the opening already in your ceiling and send it to us with the power you want: if it matches, the new fitting drops in without touching the plasterboard, and if it does not, we will tell you which size to step to and how much the opening needs adjusting.

Is this fitting suitable for a mirror or a display area?

It is a general-lighting pattern rather than an accent one: the wide, even beam is designed to light a whole bathroom, washroom or wet area rather than to throw a concentrated pool of light on one object. For a mirror that needs brighter light on the face, or for display and signage work, the narrower-beam spotlights in the range do that job better, and the two can sit on the same ceiling without looking mismatched.
